COMP401/901: Assessment

The purpose of this unit is to ensure that you achieve a basic level of competency in both writing about your research and giving presentations, and a familiarity with important skills and ideas in research. These are skills that require practice, so the way assessment works in this unit is different to that in other units.

In addition, assessment will depend on whether you are an Honours student (COMP401), or an DHR student (COMP901). For COMP401, the final assessment will be in the form of a grade and number like in the other coursework units. For COMP901, the final assessment will be in the form of Satisfactory/No Satisfactory.

For both COMP401 and COMP901, it is a necessary condition to pass the unit to pass all the assessed tasks.

Here are the items of work that you have to submit. The scheduling of these is tight, but this is necessary in order to provide appropriate feedback to honours students, who have nearby deadlines for work related to their honours projects. The links inside the table point to the details of the assessment specifications.
