ITEC870 Advanced Database Applications Development

About This Unit

ITEC870 will focus on the activities, issues and techniques involved in developing database applications. This subject will cover three major phases of software development process for database applications: analysis, design and implementation. Students will be introduced to data modelling tool for designing databases. Concepts of telational model, transaction and concurrency control will be discussed in detail. For implementation, database vendor implementation of SQL standard, procedural extension - Oracle's PL/SQL and Microsoft's T-SQL wil be introduced.
