  Topics of Interest

Papers are invited for consideration in all aspects of knowledge acquisition, engineering and management for intelligent systems, including (but not restricted to):
  • Fundamental views on knowledge that affect the knowledge acquisition process and the use of knowledge in knowledge engineering
  • Algorithmic approaches to knowledge acquisition
  • Tools and techniques for knowledge acquisition, knowledge maintenance and knowledge validation.
  • Evaluation of knowledge acquisition techniques, tools and methods
  • Knowledge acquisition and machine learning
  • Languages and frameworks for knowledge and knowledge modelling information systems or decision support systems
  • Methods and techniques for sharing and reusing knowledge
  • Distributed knowledge acquisition through infrastructures such as the internet and social networks
  • Ontology acquisition and the role of ontologies in knowledge acquisition
  • Knowledge authoring and semantic annotation
  • Knowledge acquisition from non-ontological sources
  • Mining the Semantic Web and the Web of Data
  • The role of agents in knowledge acquisition
  • Data mining and machine learning
  • Business Rules, Knowledge Acquisition and Software Engineering
  • Knowledge Acquisition for idea generation, creativity and innovation
  • Algorithmic approaches to machine intelligence
  • Tools and techniques for machine intelligence

  Instructions for Paper Submission

Papers must follow the Springer Lecture Notes format. The paper should be between 10 to 15 pages long. For format templates, please see the Springer Website. Submission will be via Easychair. The site is open.

  Important Dates

Paper Submission: 4th May, 2012 Short extension
Notification of Acceptance: 25th May, 2012
Camera Ready: 12th June, 2012
Workshop Dates: 5-6 September, 2012 (parallel sessions with PRICAI)
 

  Review

Each submission will be reviewed by at least two members from the program committee. Acceptance will be based on relevance, originality, significance, soundness and clarity.

  Publications

All accepted papers will be published in Springer Lecture Notes Series.

  Student Scholarships

Five student scholarships to cover registration expenses were awarded to the highest ranked papers where the first author was a student.
